Mr Brennan graduated from the University of Kansas in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in general science. Following graduation he accepted a sales position with a reputable heavy equipment construction dealer where he excelled as one of the top producers in the greater Kansas City area. Mr. Brennan elected to pursue a career in law and attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City where he graduated in 2001, finishing in the top 10% of his class. His research and writing prowess resulted in his selection to the prestigious position as a professor’s teaching assistant instructing first and second year students in the research and drafting of appellate briefs.
Following graduation Mr. Brennan was offered a position with the distinguished law firm Of Arnold, Newbold, Winter, Jackson and Jacoby where he was assigned to the criminal defense department. Within four years he was appointed to lead that department and acted in that capacity for one year before rejoining his mentor Richard Jacoby as lead associate. Mr. Brennan opened his own practice in February 2007.
Since that time Mr. Brennan has continued to focus exclusively on the practice of criminal defense. Highlights of Mr. Brennan’s career include the successful participation in the defense of multiple homicide jury trials. He has also secured jury acquittals in a variety of high profile felony cases including aggravated assault, rape, felony driving under the influence, felony possession of narcotics and numerous other municipal, state and federal cases in both Kansas and Missouri. Mr. Brennan’s practice focuses solely on the defense of individuals accused of criminal charges of any kind. He is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri and regularly appears in municipal, state and federal courts. Although he takes an aggressive and thorough approach to each case, his focus is always on the best interests of his clients. This sometimes means taking steps to reduce an individual’s punitive exposure through comprehensive plea negotiations.
